Take a leisurely stroll among olive trees, canes, and citrus fruits and bask in the natural beauty of Melanes Valley. Then, be awestruck by two magnificent Kouros statues – shining examples of ancient sculpture.
Next, head to Eggares citrus valley, which nine-time Nobel Prize nominee, Greek writer Nikos Kazantzakis, described in poetic terms as “If paradise was on earth, it would be here.” Follow your guide on a tour of an old olive press with a stone mill before getting an insider’s view with tasting samples of delectable cheeses, vegetables, and homegrown wines and raki at a local farm. Depending on the season, you may even have the opportunity to witness cheese-making in action!
On a calm day, take a refreshing dip at the less popular Amitis Beach.
Finally, relax on a scenic ride back while gazing out at the ocean and reflecting on the wealth of information you’ve gathered during this unforgettable journey.
